*Quote from 2011, but I’m sure he still believes that.

I’m really not sure what GM stands for that’s that different than what Ford stands for though? I mean GM has always felt crappier to me, but they feel relatively similar to me...

“ The people trust us” ? That’s a shame for anyone that bought one of their cars with the DCT.

As someone who works for GM, that’s quite the quote... we need a good rivalry again.

More CEO’s need to be like this, not because it would make the world a better place, but funnier.

Seems like some bullshit made up by a guy who needs his workers on his side if you ask me............

Yeah. I’d love to buy a 2-3 year old Focus hatchback, as it’s the perfect size and fits me well. But, that DCT auto gives me great pause. Why’d they have to go and mess up a pretty good car with a shitty transmission is beyond me.

Or wanted their car to still be in one piece by the end of the decade. Ford is not known for their stellar build quality, either initial (no JD Powahs ) or long term.

Loved the first scene in Ford vs Ferrari.

If I submit multiple pages to Ford, I’ll get $20. Worse class action suit, ever. After getting rid of the car with only 25k miles on it because it was flat out dangerous . Got nowhere near what I should have for the car, it’s well known the transmission is a nightmare and Ford won’t fix them. Hope they go under for good.

I’ve got a 2018 Escape as a company car, less than 60,000 miles - corrosion bubbling up at the bottoms of the doors, paint peeled clean off on the drivers side A-pillar, and drivers door has noticeably wider gaps than the passenger side. The 2008 Town Car I owned had paint peeling off the hood in sheets, and a 2013 Mustang I bought new had clear coat failure on the front bumper and had the trunk lid repainted twice, and the hood replaced to deal with paint bubbling and peeling off. My company has dealt with lots of transmission and electrical problems with the Escape fleet, to the point that we're phasing out Ford and moving to Hyundai.
One person and three cars isn’t necessarily a big enough sample size to make a trend, but, still, I know I’d be hard pressed to buy another Ford product with my own money after that. Paint and body work is expensive

At least the guy is showing some passion for building cars.
Whether he’s a good businessman or a worthy CEO remains to be seen, but I think it’s a bit promising. At least in comparison to Mr. Furniture CEO.

The only First that has held together that I know of is an old Ranger and that is because there isn’t anything to fall off. A friend’s newer Escape had exterior trim fall off while driving. A friend’s brand new F150 has a leaky sunroof. Some cousins managed to run a basically new 10 year old Exploder into the ground in a year (gifted by my grandfather) and not even by engine failure. My brothers 8 year old Fusion has catastrophic interior UV damage and loads of loose trim. Never gonna buy from the Blue Oval.
Then again, I own an American made GM product, which has somehow held together fantastically with no problems whatsoever.

Its a crapshoot, every automaker builds some good cars and some bad cars, you just have to go by averages, and right now, Ford’s average is pretty poor, GM’s is probably acceptable. Though, I’ ve got a Chevy with their abysmal 3.6 V6 right now (didn't fully research all the issues with it before buying), it's at 71,000 miles now with no issues, we'll see how that goes. Maybe a preventative flush somewhere after 75,000 will keep it from sludging up too bad.

GM products are best when they are like cockroaches. Ford s go out with bang sooner than you would want. Right now, GM makes better products but none that I want to buy. Ford used to make products I wanted to admire from afar, but now it is just the Mustang and F150 that I wish were better built.

Farley is a curiosity to me because, unlike Hackett, he actually believes in something. Time will tell if he’s good for Ford. I have my doubts.
Alan Mulally brought Ford back from the dead. Mark Fields at least had a vision for the future of Ford, though I suspect he got the boot for spending WAY too much money. Hackett was just sort of... present.
Best of luck to “Not Chris” Farley.

Both were sort of born on third base within living memory and his pretending Ford hasn’t also shouted “look ma, a triple” is not very convincing.

“born on third.”
I like that, I’m going to take it.

Well, I stole it from the article that quoted the guy.
Oh, then Who’s on first and What’s on second.

I almost said “I’m going to steal that.” but I didn’t like the pun, so I changed it.........
Now look what you’ve done.
